Misty Owl Music (ASCAP)

I can hear them ol' dogs barking, they're
Howling at the moon all night long.
They be chasing that raccoon.
Where did we hide that ol’ bottle of shine?
Sometime 'fore the morning comes,
I sure do want to find,
Where did we hide that bottle of moonshine?

Well the ol' raccoon he's out there on a limb.
I know he can't see me, but I can sure see him.
He's all scooched down like a chicken on a roost,
Lookin' straight down at my big ol’ red pooch.
And I said now,
"Where did we hide that bottle of hooch?"

Look up in the heavens, not a cloud in the sky.
It's a night to be outside. It's a night to be alive.
Standing on a mountaintop, I'm wishing on a star.
Thinkin' 'bout that gal of mine,
I'm wondering where you are.
And I'm wondering where did we hide that Mason jar?

Well them dogs a half a mile away, raccoon farther still.
Cool water from a mountain stream
Be trickling down the hill.
Sure 'nougn deep in these woods as I have ever been.
I'm gonna get up in a minute,
And I'm gonna start walking again,
'Cause I gotta find me that jug of white lightning.

It's three o'clock, I'm wide awake
In the middle of the night.
Out here sleep’s just a thief, taking away the good life.
There's absolutely not a better place you can be
Than standing right where you can see
That ol' bottle sticking out of that hollow tree.

Well the big red morning sun
Come trickling through the trees.
I'd love to stay, but I gotta go. I sure do hate to leave.
Sit down you ol' hounds. I gotta loosen up my shoes.
Surely I can remember if I just take me a little snooze.
Where did we hide that bottle of booze?

I know it's gonna make you dogs all happy if we do
Come back tonight.
Gonna find me that jug of mountain dew,
I gotta find me that bottle of home brew.
Yes, we are coming back tonight,
Gonna find that bottle of white…lightning.
