Gus Cannon said he had the first jug band in Memphis...Cannon's Jug Stompers. When the Jug Stompers did Hollywood Rag in 1928, they were not talking about California. Eddie and Frank used a sage grass field outside of Hollywood, MS for their recording studio and did their version of Hollywood Rag.
