41. Saturday Blues (Jackson)

In the 1920's, Mr. H. C. Speir ran a music store on Farish Street in Jackson. He cut demo records for a who's who's of Delta greats. In December of 1927 on a Saturday morning, Mr. Speir heard Ishman Bracey playing on Mill Street. He liked what he heard. He said, "Now that will go over." Mr. Speir recorded Ishman's Saturday Blues, and it did "go over." In a tribute to H. C. Speir and Ishman Bracey, Eddie and Frank recorded their version of Saturday Blues on the corner of Mill and Hamilton in Jackson. It was on a Friday.
