22. Ham Hound Crave (Mattson, MS)
A big day in the development of the Delta blues took place in Mattson. Son House heard the blues being played by Willie Wilson and Rubin Lacy "in front of a place" on a Saturday about 1926. Son fell under the spell of Rubin Lacy. Son was a direct influence of both Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters. Well, there you have it. Eddie and Frank did Rubin Lacy's Ham Hound Crave under a shade tree on the foundation of a torn down "place" in Mattson
