53. Buddy Boldens Blues (New Orleans)
The first man of jazz was cornet player Buddy Bolden of New Orleans. Fantastic story! Eddie and Frank put their stool down on the Perdido sidewalk beside the Odd Fellows and Masonic Hall in New Orleans. Bolden was known to have played there. With a 100+ year old nylon string guitar they recorded Jelly Roll Morton's Buddy Bolden's Blues. Across town at 2309 First Street, at Buddy Bolden's boyhood home, they recorded the song's melody on a 100+ year old cornet. They were really close to the birthplace of jazz.
