37. Mean Old 'Frisco Blues (Midnight)
Most blues enthusiasts know that Elvis' first big hit was That's Alright, Mama. Many don't know that it was written by Big Boy Crudup. It's hard to pinpoint where Big Boy is from, but a lot of folks think it might be Midnight, MS. Eddie and Frank drove into town. The sign said, "Welcome to Midnight." Sounds funny doesn't. It wasn't midnight. It was the middle of the day, and hot. They found shade in the Midnight Gin and recorded Big Boy's Mean Old 'Frisco Blues.
