58. Basin Street Blues (New Orleans)
Storyville! There's a story! And Eddie and Frank's Blues Tour story is another! Lulu White was the most famous madam in the business, way back in the Storyville days, and her nephew, Spencer Williams, wrote Basin Street Blues. Eddie and Frank searched for the location of the once famous Lulu White's Saloon, and found it, but nobody in what was at that moment a simple, pink, corner market on Basin Street seemed to know anything about the buildings history. Wow! Eddie and Frank set up down Basin in a park and played the Spencer Williams tune. They added a trumpet break by Sidney Bechet inside St. Augustine Church where Mr. Bechet was baptized.
