BLUES TOUR - Ridin' the Road

THE SCOOP

[+ Show ME More]
Eddie and Frank Thomas Traveled the Blues Highway for Three Years, recording its story...

Need a good Journey of Discovery; Want to see The Delta; Like to hear and see what Alan Lomax called 'the land where the blues began'?

Try Ridin' the Road with Eddie and Frank.  Sixty-one, 30 second clips work hand in hand with the Thomas brothers' new, 240 page memoir, 61 Down the Highway.

44. Old Devil (Bolton)

Armenter Chatmon was one of the Mississippi Sheiks. When working as a solo artist, he called himself Bo Carter. Bo was an amazingly inventive guitar player and singer. From the late 1920's to around 1940, he appeared on more than 100 records. He died in poverty. Eddie and Frank paid tribute to both Armenter Chatmon and Bo Carter by playing their tune Old Devil in an outdoor school pavilion in Bolton.
